Thanks for you guys jumping in here. Just for argument sake this is a high form of flattery TERM. I hope that you know that this was created out of your blog being born. I have no intention on trying to take over your forum, just allow others a place to speak nicely and feel that they don't have to worry about being ridiculed. Some will test the waters and delete will happen often I am sure. But I hope that this will somehow give an outlet and only time will tell.

MP, good to see you and I agree with your list. A very eclectic list also if I do say so. Farmers market was great last night by the way, lots of new vendors with cool stuff. Veggies are in full swing now.

I like Painesville because its my home. I have low utility rates good and a government willing to help me with my problems that genuinely cares about me. Also, I know people here that I have known for years, but it is not a boring place. I don't need to go elsewhere to get a change. The city is always changing and its exciting. We have a mix of cultures which growing up with I believe made me a better person. And as time moves forward we have new houses being built for me to move into at a good price within the city or its newly acquired land. Most important change recently though - New Schools!

What a great day! Driving by Lake Erie College and seeing all those cars and the BEAUTIFUL campus makes me happy to be in Painesville (a college town)! We shall build on this positive part of our town and will grow and thrive like the flowers on the campus grounds!

Thanks maddog for the info on "Your Vine or Mine". I have heard about that business opening up soon and am glad to see a touch of class in the downtown area. I have looked through the windows and the place looks very nice there.

Yes, the college is shaping up very nice. I guess the Storm lost their inaugural game against "Gannon" a school in western PA. I guess that they lost by two points and they pulled their weight. Imagine if the rankings for the college pushed forward and they were able to really pull in some big high school names to play the game here. Smells nice around here, right?

oh yes,
i think the best part of painesville is veteran's park.

it is an asset to our town and other cities are envious of. i loved it since i was a kid and came to see the christmas lights in the "big" city

I'm wondering, when the new hospital is built, will patients still have to take a helicopter ride to Cleveland; for treatment? If so, what is the point?

That last post was a dumb question, and should not be on this blog.

jt. People are calling me wanting to get here.but I think its to much of a spelling challange. Think about a shorter name.
Good Luck

I thought this was going to be a positive site and you would delete anything negative. Well, anonymous has made a derogatory remark about Terms friends and you left it on. So as long as you are being negative on Term and his friends, go ahead. But say anything negative about Painesville, delete. I'm sure this will be deleted, but I won't know it because I am leaving this phony site.

No you won't

Hello there all, just lets clarify a couple things. On vacation this weekend enjoying the family a bit and not on the web, sorry.

Leaving the name the way it is, Thanks for the idea TERM, however I like the name and therefore, it stays. Besides all they have to do is put the word "positively" in front of your login, I did it that way for a reason, to make it easy. Sorry if you are getting unwanted calls over this TERM, I would have never anticipated that.

I do delete negative comments but I will leave yours for all to see. I did delete the other comment as I stated I would as soon as I read it. I just don't spend all my time in front of the computer is all. If you don't like the comment feel free to go elsewhere, sorry this was not your cup of tea. JT

To the poster asking about the hospital, no stupid questions and in the interest of information, I say this. Now the hospital life flights people out for trauma reasons only, severe cases that need more skilled attention. I would imagine that they will still rely on that from time to time and be grateful that they know their limitations. Me personally, I don't want someone who knows they should life flight to keep trying. The staff at East is very capable but they have your life at heart and call the big boys when they need to.

As for hospital policy, don't have a clue. Maybe best to call Lake East and ask an administrator. Thanks, JT

Came to this site in hopes of finding positive items, Everyone seems to want to disprove the other site. Yes, I am happy to live here, but for the most part no one has disproved the other site.just insults people that post there.

The problem seems to be that no one in town wants to see there dirty laundry in public, it not that the information is wrong I guess.Really whats here that we talk about thats positive? Please dont tell me the other side is true. neggies? 5th grade.
We all know who runs the other site, if we are positive who are you?

Big John said...

I don't think that TERMS site should be abandoned at all, and I would like to see a stop to the slamming of other posters to tell the truth. I have slowed the posts in effort to slow the slams. I want to discuss the good things about the town and keep to topic if at all possible. I won't go through and delete people because their opinions are negative, people will see them for what they are. I take the higher ground and feel bad that some have to drag you into the mud to feel better about themselves. My posts are positive and centered at good things, if people see the glass half empty all the time I feel sorry for them. JT

Life-Flight will come to wherever they are needed: whether it is in the heart of Painesville, Rte 44, Rte 90,Perry, Concord - et al.
Why are you so concerned that this will change when Lake East goes South?

Big John said...

I don't think that that question asked was about whether or not Life Flight would come here, rather why, with a new hospital, would we still have to be flown out to Cleveland for treatment. Maybe you are in the know with the trauma field and could answer this better. I explained that East currently sends out the serious cases that need major trauma type care, along with other more serious cases. JT

Being around so many people that love living here, and don't mind being ranked 75th out of 76. Of all Cleveland communities. Schools that have the lowest rating in the county. And most of all cheap electricity.

What I want to know is did anyone study what kind of chaos is going to be caused at the intersection of 44 and Auburn every time an ambulance comes through there. Being so close to the entrance, I figure they will HAVE to install one of those Emergency Traffic Priority systems which will lock up all that traffic every time.

Big John said...

Ken, Welcome first of all. I would think that the topic of the traffic lights did come up. No way they could have considered it otherwise, I would think. You are right, there is going to be some confusing at first but, the priority light system is very good and will allow them to get through easily. I would bet that they will be placing sensors pretty far away so that the lights change and people can stop safely at the speeds that they travel, well before the squad comes through. It is a big intersection and without a traffic study, my guess is that they would not been able to even brake ground.

Much like the Post Office, when they moved. they had to redo some side streets that their trucks would use prior to the move, just a stipulation to protect the roads and such. Good question, it will be interesting to see how that all plays out there. JT
