Positive time of year

I am asking, urging all of us to make a difference in one persons life. Take the time this season to find a person, family what-ever, and try and help them out. Donate to a shelter, Salvation Army, do something. The reason that this country is different is because many of us care about people that we do not know. Post your ideas that may help someone else decide where to give, and please do more than just post, ACT!

Readers reviews

I am taking suggestions about different types of "Positive reviews". If you do something in the City , feel free to write me an email, by going to my profile, and I will consider posting it. Leave a name or screen name for me, won't post anonymous poster reviews, sorry. You could be reviewing an event, shop, or a friendly cashier at the bank, don't care. Let me know and lets see what happens.

Veterans park

I would like to say that Veterans park looks great!  I did like some of the old decorations to be honest and was looking forward to seeing the family of carolers lit by the spot lights, but these are very nice.  The park really shines.  I can not wait till some snow falls, whitens the ground and trees.  I will be in the park with the camera taking some low light photgraphs, and I will post them when I do.  By the way, I took the photo at the top of Positively Painesville.

Happy Thanksgiving

I just wanted to wish all of you out there a Happy Thanksgiving. And to remember that there are people out there much less fortunate that you and I. Maybe take the time this holiday to thank someone that will be working through the holiday to make sure we are safe. Go to your local fire department and police stations and tell them that you are glad that they are working and not forgotten. As well, please take time to remember the men and woman in the military that also serve during the holidays. Maybe get a tray of veggies or cookies and take it to them. Box up some magazines and beef jerky and send it to the military serving abroad. Give thanks for what you truly are thankful and make sure those around you know, you will be repaid. God bless. JT

Favorite Painesville Wintertime memories!

A frequent contributor, DC, wrote that they would like to see a post for their favorite winter memories of Painesville.  Maybe you went sledding down Telegraph hill, driving through to see all the lights, maybe a Chirstmas Eve church service that is very pretty.  Whatever your winter memories feel free to write about them and share with the rest of us.  I would love to hear some stories of "Old Painesville" during it's hay day if there is anyone out there to help?  Thanks DC!

Painesville Holiday Open House review

Big success!! There were cars and people everywhere. Everyone behaved themselves and with a Salvation Army bell ringer working the scene and the light snow whisping about, it really felt like the holidays. The lights were all on and the area looked great. I really do love this affair and am counting the days till next year. Did not this used to be called something else in years gone by like "Men's night" or something like that? Maybe someone knows. Good Job Downtown Org. things went off well.

My favorite location...Grande Designs! The combo of the decorations, friendly owners and staff, coupled with the food and frivolity made for a wonderful time. Their attention to detail in the window design reminds me of the big cities that take time to change the window displays for the seasons. Great job guys!

Get out and VOTE!!

I am urging all out there to get out and vote for your candidate and the issues that you are passionate about. Take the time and sit in line, what-ever you need to do, get your sticker and VOTE! No matter your beliefs or ideals, take this chance to VOTE and remember the many that have died before you that allowed you to keep that gift.

Memories

Maybe you remember the old Painesville and were looking for a place to put your fond memories. Tell us about something you know about old Painesville that makes you think of your childhood. Maybe a family member stayed at the Parmly Hotel? Maybe you shopped downtown Painesville and you remember a funny story about one of the traffic cops directing traffic. Who knows, but here is the place to write your thoughts. Have fun, keep it clean and yes the delete button still works over here.

Positive Ideas

What would you like to see done with the site of Lake East Hospital. We hear so much negative about the move, like we could change it now, and I was curious what good might come out of this. I am not ignoring the obvious here, just hoping to spur some good conversation.

What did you do this summer?

I did many things this summer that were Paineville related and was wondering if you had any reflections to share?  Maybe you did one thing in the City that was fun or went to a shop for the first time?  Maybe you had a family picnic at the park, my son and daughter like to go to the river down in recreation park and look for salamanders, cray-fish and skipping rocks.  What is it that draws your attention here.  JT
